Overview

Joshua is an experienced family lawyer who has been with Biddulph & Salenger since 2020, having previously worked at several prominent family law firms in Sydney and as a Legal Associate in the Family Court. In each of Joshua’s matters he combines a sensible, efficient and pragmatic approach with strict attention to detail, clear advice, and a carefully thought out strategy.

Joshua’s Family Law practice encompasses both parenting and financial matters that range from routine to complex. He is proficient at both alternative dispute resolution and litigation and is a persuasive advocate, whether at the mediation table or in the courtroom.

Joshua’s experience in financial matters includes dealing with trusts and companies, tax issues, third parties, self-managed superannuation funds, valuation and loan disputes, inheritances, interim settlements, injunctions, staged or delayed settlementsdrafting and settling financial agreements and remedying defective orders prepared by others.

Joshua acts in parenting matters involving significant parental conflict, family violence, substance abuse, mental health and child safety issues. He is careful to ensure that the safety and privacy of parents and children are not compromised. He has conducted parenting matters that dealt specifically with overseas travel, school enrolment, children spending time with grandparents, absent or missing parents, change of name, and the diagnosis of and treatment for gender dysphoria. Joshua also provides advice and assistance in relation to child support, including drafting and enforcing child support agreements, or seeking changes of assessment through the Department of Human Services or the Administrative Appeals Tribunal and the Court.

In addition to family law Joshua has a Wills and estates practice that encompasses estate planning, family provision claims and other estate-related disputes.

Joshua joined the Biddulph & Salenger team as a Director in July 2023

Joshua is originally from Toowoomba in regional Queensland but now calls Sydney home. In his spare time Joshua volunteers for the Rural Fire Service and is in the final stages of completing a Master of Laws by research.
